Act fast. It's not your fault. The first hour matters most.

  1. Stop payingDon't send more, even if they promise a refund after "one more fee".
  2. Call your bank nowUse the number on your card or app. Ask them to stop or recall the payment.
  3. Save the evidenceScreenshot the ad, messages, receipt, numbers and profiles.
  4. Report it to the GardaíAny Garda station. Ask for a crime reference number. garda.ie
  5. Report the adFlag it where you found it so it can't catch the next student.
  6. Tell your collegeYour international office or students' union can help with emergency housing.
